Meet the seniors who dedicated their capstone project to uncovering Hewitt's past.

Valerie Blinder

​

Originally from Orange County, California, Valerie Blinder is currently a senior at The Hewitt School. Throughout her thirteen years at Hewitt, Valerie has been involved in many aspects of student life. In middle school, she participated in school productions of Guys and Dolls, Xanadu, Shrek, The Pirates of Penzance, and Twelfth Night. Upon entering high school, Valerie shifted her focus toward clubs and publications. She served as the three-year president of Film Club, the Latin and French Editor of the Upper School Foreign Language Magazine Sophia, and the co-editor-in-chief of the Upper School Art and Literary Magazine Venturer. She loves to write and has been recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing awards. She has also been the recipient of the Summa Cum Laude Certificate (Gold Medal) for the National Latin Exam and the Hewitt Upper School’s English, French, and Latin awards. homestay programs in Québec City, Montpellier, Crema, Bondoufle, Seville, and Saint-Denis. When not writing or learning new languages, she can likely be found sketching floor plans and listening to music from the sixties or seventies. Although she's sad to end her thirteen wonderful years at Hewitt, she looks forward to continuing her studies at Georgetown University in the fall of 2020.

Viviana Barberi​

​

Viviana Barberi is a senior at The Hewitt School where she studied for thirteen years. She was born and raised in New York City where she currently lives with her family. She loves languages and culture and is fluent is Spanish, proficient in French and a Latin scholar. She represented the student voice on the Strategic Visioning Committee. She has also represented the Hewitt School at the Student Diversity Leadership Conference as well as local Latinx conferences in New York City. She is a dedicated ski instructor during the winter months and an artist who paints and takes photographs in her spare time. She loves her connection to the Hewitt School and looks back on her years fondly. Viviana is also looking forward to the next chapter in her life as she embarks on her college journey.
